Call the Police
After getting yourself to safety or away from the road, you must call the police. Despite being a legal requirement, some people deliberately fail to report their accidents to the relevant authorities as expected.
This is not only detrimental in getting the facts right about the crash but also negatively impacts your chances of making a recovery since your case is not a public record. The police will provide a report detailing the circumstances of the crash as well as all the parties involved.
Get Medical Help
Injuries are usually obvious in motorcycle accidents. While many of them are mild, some can be life-threatening. For this reason, you must get medical help as soon as possible. Some injuries remain hidden for days or weeks after the crash, only to show when it’s too late.
To ensure your overall well-being, seeing a doctor immediately after a crash is critical. Remember to document your treatment and recovery journey, detailing the types of injuries suffered and subsequent expenses.
After your initial visit, you should continue to follow up with treatment for your accident in Alief, as your medical records can help prove a future claim for compensation.
Document the Crash
If you can, stay at the scene and collect as many details as you can regarding the accident. Use your phone or any other applicable device to take photos and videos of the scene.
Capture your injuries, the wreckage, the parties involved, as well as the general surroundings. Such pieces of evidence always come in handy when proving your injury claim. Also, note down the contact and insurance information of all persons involved.
